We recognized all of our graduates today and wish them well in their plans
for the future. Vacation Bible School will begin on Monday, June 23 at 5:30 pm.
Call 770-464-3854 or visit www.socialcircleumc.org for more information. Today,
Rev. Richard Noth delivered the sermon "Do You Tend To Worry Too Much?" based on
Matthew 6:25-35. Most of us worry about things that we have no control over. We
should not worry. Whatever happens God is still in control. He knows what we
need. All that we need to do is trust in Him. If God is for us who can be
against us? - Bob Bailes

On Tuesday, May 27 we begin our FISH4KIDS program where we will deliver
lunch to 400 children in Social Circle five days a week during the summer. If
you can volunteer to help please call 770-464-3854 or 770-464-9912. Today was
Homecoming and we enjoyed having Rev. Josh Roberts deliver the sermon based on
Exodus 4:10-18. God called Moses just like He calls us and Moses, like many of
us asked for God to let someone else do the work. As Christians, we need to be
responsible for our Faith. The work of the church is never done. We need to
constantly show the love of God in new ways. When God calls you how will you
respond?-Bob Bailes

Spread the word! The SCUMC Homecoming is Sunday, May 18th with Rev. Josh Roberts
who grew up in our church returning to preach. Call 770-464-3854 for more
information. Today, Rev. Richard Noth presented the sermon "Why Are We Here On
Earth?" based on John 17:1-5. Jesus knew exactly why He was here on earth but
many of us have no idea why we are here. Jesus came to defeat the devil and save
the human race. We are here on earth to believe, love, serve and glorify God. -

Have you lost a loved one? Please stop by SCUMC on Sunday, May 4th at 2 pm
for the Abbey Hospice Spring Memorial Service and Reception. Call 770-464-3854
or visit www.socialcircleumc.org . Today we began our Revival Service and
welcomed DR. Rich Phipps to open our hearts and minds. His sermon, Condemnation
and Salvation based on Romans 5:18-19 was a great way to begin the awakening
process. Adam's sin infected all of us with condemnation and eternal damnation
in hell. The cure for this horrible situation is Jesus Christ Who died on the
cross and brought us salvation. God has only two lists: "Saved" and "Lost". As
Christians we must spread the good news that the belief in Jesus Christ will
enable us to cross from death to life. - Bob Bailes

Please join us on April 27-29 for the SCUMC Revival. Dr. Rich Phipps will be
preaching at 9 am, 11 am and 7 pm on Sunday as well as at 7 pm on Monday and
Tuesday. Go to www.socialcircleumc.org or call 770-464-3854 for more
information. Today, Rev. Richard Noth delivered the sermon "How Do You Get From
Here To There" based on John 14:5-11 with emphasis on John 14:6. Many times we
have a difficult time finding our way but we should never have a problem finding
God. Jesus says"I am the Way, the Truth and the Life." He stands in front of us
waiting for us to open our hearts to Him and becoming connected to Heaven
through Jesus Christ who took our sins and gave us His Righteousness. - Bob

Join us at noon on Sunday, April 20th for our 3rd Sunday Covered Dish Luncheon.
We are blessed with many fine cooks who love to put out a big spread. Call
770-464-3854 for more information. Today, Rev. Richard Noth delivered the sermon
"What The Good Shepherd Offers To All" based on John 10:1-10. God offers us
safety from all predators with the devil constantly attacking the Good Shepherds
sheep. He offers us a land fit for a Saint as Heaven is our Promised Land. We
have a life that is full and blessed with the opportunity to feed on the food of
God's presence. - Bob Bailes

April 13th at 8 am. We always have some fun activity going on at SCUMC. Call
770-464-3854 or visit www.socialcircleumc.org for more information. Today, Rev.
Richard Noth presented the sermon "What Does God Expect From You" based on 1
Peter 1:13-23. After our conversion God changes us from self centered to Christ
centered. He does not want us to conform to the world but to reach out as
enthusiastic born again believers. We must be Holy but not holier than thou! God
asks us to love one another deeply, from the heart. The army of God must make a
difference in this world by saving and restoring the human race. - Bob Bailes

Today Rev. Richard Noth delivered the sermon "The High Cost of
Freedom" based on Galatians 5:1 God has blessed us to be able to live in
this country and be free. To complement our freedom we need to have awareness of
this privilege and respect for the many soldiers who paid the high cost to keep
us free. We have the opportunity and responsibility to help other countries,
communities and individuals who are less fortunate. We need to reach them, feed
them and tell them about Jesus Christ. - Bob Bailes

We had a great presentation today by the United Methodist Women as President
Darlene Alley presented their first scholarship to Koteesha Goodwin. The UMW is
a wonderful organization in our church open to all women. Call 770-464-3854 or

see the many activities we have to offer. Our Youth Minister, Pastor Bryan
Johnson delivered the sermon "The Heart of Worship." As Christians we
need to restore honor to the name of Jesus Christ and make our religion a
lifestyle versus an affiliation. The heart of worship is a life that is fully
committed to God and an attitude that shows others a reason to overcome doubt
and worship. - Bob Bailes

We had a nice turnout on Fathers Day and the children gave each dad a gift.
Vacation Bible School will take place on July 11-14 and volunteers are needed.
Please call 770-464-3854 if you can help. Rev. Noth is in Alaska on a mission
trip so our very own cowboy preacher, Gene Ensminger gave the sermon
"Forgiveness and New Beginnings." Gene does a great job relating
stories about his horses and how they are similar to our walk with God and with
other people. We must always work on forgiving others, replacing resentment and
anger with good will and taking concrete steps to rebuild relationships. As we
take our Christian Walk we will find that forgiveness can actually make a
relationship stronger. Come and worship with us in beautiful downtown
Social Circle.- Bob Bailes

We are proud to be a part of this summers FISH4KIDS program where 300 mid
day meals are delivered to children in our community each day until school
resumes in July. We need more volunteers to help with this program. Please call
770-464-3854 for more information. Today, Rev. Richard Noth delivered the sermon
"There is Peace Through Christ" based on Romans 5:1-5. We have peace,
direct access to God and joy in the hope of the glory of God because of the
blood of Jesus Christ. Suffering will make us better people or bitter people.
The challenge is always to trust God in good and bad times.- Bob Bailes

Today we celebrated Women's Recognition Sunday. UMW President Darlene Alley
talked about the five fellowship circles and invited every woman to get
involved. Connie Cannon was the guest speaker and presented the sermon
"Finding Your Voice." We must use our spiritual voices for the Lord
and be a keynote speaker for God at the banquet of life. Our voices are needed
desperately in our church, in our neighborhoods and in our communities. - Bob

Today we celebrated Mothers Day giving flowers to the most elderly, the youngest
and the mom with the most children and grandchildren accompanying her. Each lady
then received a gift from the children of the church. Rev. Richard Noth
delivered the sermon "Looking for One Thing & Finding Another"
based on Acts 16:11-15. The disciples were looking for a place to pray but God
lead them in a different direction to witness to a lady and her family. The lady
then showed her power to influence her family and talk about Christ. Christ
calls us to do His work and spread the good news!- Bob Bailes

Relay for Life Team offers great food and entertainment. Call 770-464-3854 for
more information on this and the many other activities at our church. There is
something for everyone. Today, Rev. Richard Noth delivered the sermon "What
God Says About the Future" based on Revelation 21:1-6. God delivers a
prophetic message that He will be making everything new. The new Jerusalem will
be free of crime and sin. The best gift is that God will be present with us. Our
most important goal is to work to save our family and friends as we prepare for
that wonderful day. - Bob Bailes

On Sunday,May 6th we have the Abbey Memorial Service at 2 pm and the New Member
Orientation at 6 pm. This is a great time to visit our church and learn more
about all of the exciting events. Call 770-464-3854 or visit www.socialcircleumc.org
for more information. Today, Rev. Richard Noth presented the sermon " Are
You Ignoring God" based on John 10:22-30. Jesus' divine power was very
evident in His works but many did not believe in Him. Today, many people take
God for granted or feel that He is ignoring them. It takes humility, desire,
passion and perseverance to believe in God and to feel the presence of God
in us and around us. We must focus on loving God and doing His will. - Bob

2007 03 18
Today we praised God for a great Revival and prayed that it's effects will
result in us bringing more people from our community to know Jesus Christ as
their Lord and Savior. Rev. Richard Noth's sermon was "What Is On Your
Mind" based on Joshua 4:19-24. In order to allow the children of Israel to
escape slavery and seek the promised land God parted the waters letting
them walk on dry land. They could not have done it without Him. The same applies
to our lives. We cannot escape the grasp of evil without God and we will only
get to Heaven because of the Grace of God and Jesus Christ's death on the cross.
We must remember that God saved us so that we would have the passion to save
others. Come and worship with us. Call 770-464-3854 or visit www.socialcircleumc.org

Worthy Life ". As Christians, what we say and do is a reflection on God and our
Church. We need to be completely humble. God has called us to represent Him. We
must be reconcilers gently restoring people back to God. The Church is an army
and we are Christian Soldiers doing God's Will. We are members of the living
body of Jesus Christ Who is over all, through all and in all. - Bob

We celebrate with Josh Roberts on his first assignment as a minister. The good
folks at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church will have a great new minister
joining them. Rev. Richard Noth gave the sermon "It's Who You Know."
John 10:1-10 teaches us that we are like sheep and Jesus is the Gate for the
sheep. As we go through life we are involved in many things and can easily get
lost. We must listen to our Shepherd Who calls us by name and leads us to
safety. Each day we need to set aside time to talk to God with an open bible and
an open mind. Let us hear His Voice!- Bob Bailes

. Today, Rev. Richard Noth delivered a powerful sermon: "The Answer to
Inner Turmoil". After Jesus' death the disciples in the Upper Room were sad
about the past, feared the Romans in the present and were anxious about the
future. They were filled with inner turmoil. However, Jesus appeared before them
and calmed them down bringing Divine Peace offered by the King of Kings and Lord
of Lords. If God is for us, who can be against us? Jesus is the answer.- Bob

Happy Easter! Our 6:30 am Community Wide
Sunrise Service had a great crowd and wonderful messages from SCUMC, First
Baptist and Corinth church leaders. We all broke bread together afterwards as
one to celebrate our risen Savior, Jesus Christ. At the 11 am Traditional
Worship Service our church was full with many visitors along with familiar faces
that we have not seen for awhile. Rev. Richard Noth delivered the sermon
"Why Easter is a Big Deal." He talked about how many people woke
up this morning and proclaimed that Easter is no big deal. Those same people
need to listen to Christ knocking on the door of their heart and asking to come
inside. Easter is the biggest deal in the history of the earth. If Christ had
not been raised and we were without the assurance of eternal life, we would
still be guilty of our sins and faced with eternal damnation. Fear would be the
dominant theme in our lives instead of hope. On Sunday, 4/23 we will resume our
9 am Contemporary Service. Please call us at 770-464-3854 or visit www.socialcircleumc.org

six weeks we will study how SCUMC can work with the community to serve the Lord.
Rev. Richard Noth prepared us for our journey with the sermon "Preparing

God's chosen Priests and must be kind, compassionate, loving and understanding

. Rev. Richard Noth teaches us through his meaningful sermons that we are
disciples for Jesus. He came into this world to restore the role of the church
as the army of disciples for God. Jesus was a servant who gave Spiritual
nourishment to everyone around Him. We must live, act and think like Jesus so
that His light in our lives will allow us to be a witness just like the original
disciples. Others will see the love of God as we serve Him. - Bob Bailes

Thanksgiving day from 1-5 pm. Also give us a list of shut ins around Social
Circle who would like to have a hot meal delivered to their home. Call us at
770-464-3854 for more information. Today Charles Jordan led the congregation in
a Recognition of Veterans and we thanked all them for their service to our
country. Reverend Richard Noth delivered the sermon: "Living For a
Purpose." Everyone was created for a purpose and God can guide us in the
right direction. We are hear to glorify God through five purposes; worship,
fellowship, to become Christ like, to serve God and to reach to all who do not
know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Let us fulfill God's purpose and glorify
His holy name.- Bob Bailes

1-5 pm on Thanksgiving Day to serve turkey, ham and all of the trimmings to the
elderly, lonely, homeless and unemployed families in our great community. Today
Reverend Richard Noth delivered the sermon " The Importance of
Gratitude." Many people live a life without gratitude that is self absorbed
and pitiful. As Christians we are taught to be grateful for friends, life,
family and most importantly having a grateful heart that is alive and full of
the Grace of God. Gratitude reminds us of the love God has for us.- Bob

great sermon " Why Love is so Important." If we could reduce all of
scripture into one word that word would be " Love ". As Christians we
are taught to love unconditionally and to accept others as Christ has accepted
us. We must serve others cheerfully and use God's gifts to administer God's
grace. In keeping with this message several members of the congregation along
with friends have made the decision to serve the elderly, homeless and less
fortunate this Thanksgiving. The church will be open from 1-5 pm serving free
meals to everyone in need as well as delivering food to people who cannot make
it to the church - Bob Bailes

Our church was alive today with wonderful music, praise and worship. Pastor
Richard Noth delivered an appropriate sermon, "What Do You Like to
Celebrate?" We looked at all of the events in our lives that cause us to
celebrate and realize the most important one's are the birth of Christ,
remembering His death and celebrating His resurrection. God makes all good
things happen in our lives and each day we should celebrate what He has done for
us.- Bob Bailes

Our congregation met for Contemporary Service
at 9am and Traditional Worship Service at 11am for fellowship, prayer and
worship in God's house. We greeted several new visitors and were lifted up by
Pastor Noth's message of "What Do I Like To Think About?" We
were encouraged to notice and move beyond the evil thoughts recorded in Genesis
6:5 and dwell in the good thoughts spelled out in Proverbs 12:5 and ultimately
to the action the Holy Spirit, whispering within us, would have us do. The need
in the world today is great and we need only open our hearts and minds to God's
calling for us. Please visit us next Sunday in downtown Social Circle or contact

Our congregation enjoyed the combined talents
and praise musical duet of Judi Barton and daughter Perri. Pastor Noth continued
in his sermon trilogy titled "What Do I Like To Do?" We were
asked to search our minds and hearts to compare what we like and want to do with
what God would have us do. Reconciling ourselves to do what God would choose for
us and teach us to do brings such joy and delight we will continue to seek to
walk in his light. Psalm 48 shows us how to "delight to do God's work"
and Phil. 4:13 reassures us that "I can do all things thru Christ".

Welcome to Social Circle United Methodist Church. We are a caring
church family working hard to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina by
assembling Flood Buckets filled with cleaning supplies to send to flood victims.
Pastor Richard Noth stressed in his sermon that Faith without action is nothing
and Faith without deeds is useless. We know that Jesus would help the least and
the last. We must serve God each day of our lives by helping others and pointing
them to Jesus Christ. Come visit our wonderful church in downtown Social Circle

We had a celebration Sunday with the Holy Sacrament of Baptism for
Peyton Marcus Fortson and the Presentation of Member of the Year for 2004. Bob
Burns and Bob Phillips received recognition for the numerous tasks that they
perform at the church and in the community in a humble and quiet way. The
Chancel Choir is practicing hard to accompany Drew Parker at the 6:30 pm Sunday
8/28 Concert in the church sanctuary. Pastor Noth's sermon emphasized our goal
as a servant of God- to treat other people the way that we would want to be
treated, with dignity and respect. we encounter people on a daily basis who do
not give God the credit. We must spread the word that we are sinners saved by
Grace. Come and hear the Message at 9:00 am and 11 am this Sunday. Call

Welcome all the visitors and church family to our Sunday and
weekday activities. Events are posted on www.socialcircleumc.org
or you can call us at 770-464-3854. We have a 9 am Contemporary Service, an 11
am Traditional Morning Worship Service and many small group ministries. One
example is the Nimrods ( group of outdoor enthusiasts ) who will meet Sunday
afternoon 8/21 to shoot skeet and worship together. We also have the Mews Group
of enthusiastic performers who sing at the Mews on Sunday morning and Monday
afternoon as well as other venues in Walton County. Pastor Richard Noth's sermon
" How to Deal With a Bully" brought back memories for all of us of
bullies in our lives who think of their own needs over others. The ultimate
bully is Satan who does not want anyone to have an eternal life. It is our daily
task to resist his temptations and walk the path with God.- Bob Bailes

Our church was alive with music on Sunday 8/07. The 9 am
Contemporary Service had a lively praise band and the 11 am Traditional Morning
Worship Service celebrated Southern Gospel music. At 6 pm we had a great concert
by Natalie Reeder and friends. The message by Josh Roberts was clear that music
is a wonderful praise tool but our personal relationship with Christ and the way
we use our skills and talents to serve God are the most important factors in our
lives. We all believe in God but must go beyond believing by serving God's
interest versus our own interests. Come to downtown Social Circle and worship
with us. Call 770-464-3854 or visit www.socialcircleumc.org

delivered the sermon " Why We All Need to Praise God " based on Psalms
150 - " Let everything that has breath praise the Lord ". We need to
praise the Lord because it is the natural and biblical thing to do. We are
totally dependent on God but many times find other things more important than
going to church. God serves us and we should serve Him. It is a matter of life
or death because people who do not know Christ do not have the gift of eternal
life.- Bob Bailes

Our congregation prayed for a blessed school
year as our children and teachers return to school this week. Many guests and
visitors were greeted and welcomed with our Pastor Noth's message on "Why
We Need To Serve God." As we are the chosen hands and feet of our
Lord we are called to teach according to God's word and to live according to the
example Jesus Christ laid down for us as written in John 7:16. Our acts of
Christian kindness in the world are the measure of our commitment to serve the
Lord. We were reminded that we are called to toil in this life for our Savior
and that we will reap what we have sown. This obligation can be met through our
ministry within the church and our mission work outside the church. For these
sacrifices of ourselves we will be called to judgment according to Matthew 25
and be counted among the sheep. Please visit with us next Sunday at 9:00 and

A rare sunny morning put smiles on the faces of our church family.
We are raising money to get a new roof and sunny days are a blessing. Pastor
Richard Noth delivered a great sermon: " Why Do We All Need to Know God
." God created all of us but He is hurting because so many of His children
are missing. Incredible statistics show that 60% of the people in this country
and 93% in Europe do not attend church services! We must be God's missionaries
to tell everyone we meet that we have invited God into our hearts and He has
filled us with His Spirit. God is our Father, He makes the way for us to get to
heaven and He makes us complete. Join us on Sunday in downtown Social Circle.

related change in the growth of our town to the changes we encounter in our
lives. Change can be unsettling, or exciting but it always offers new
opportunities to serve the Lord. God is the constant in our lives through good
and bad times.- Bob Bailes

We had a great day of celebration at SCUMC. We praised God for our
independence and our freedom to worship in the church of our choice without
persecution. Our mixed ensemble sang a rousing rendition of " From Sea to
Shining Sea." Prayers went up for the people in other parts of the world
who cannot worship God without serious repercussions. Our youth returned from
their mission trip to Jamaica and gave wonderful testimonials on how the
experience changed their lives. They talked about team spirit, being the hands
and feet of God, God is the Light of the world and children need lots of love in
Jamaica, Social Circle and wherever we might be. Join us on Sunday morning for

Today was a great day to praise the Lord and to celebrate our
freedom to worship and live in a wonderful country. We had a meaningful worship
service followed by the evening American Pride 2005. Several SCUMC Choir members
had the opportunity to sing in the Walton County Music Guild Concert. The church
family was also excited about the return of our Youth Group from their mission
trip to Jamaica. Pastor Richard Noth's sermon was "If You are Mad at God,
Consider David." King David cried out to God out of pain and suffering and
he came to know that God would help him. David praised God in Psalms that He
"turned the wailing into dancing". Tragedy is a part of life. Many of
us give the devil a free pass and get mad at God for our troubles. Bad things
happen because we live in a sin-filled world but God is preparing us for an
eternity in a sin-free life with Him. Come and worship with us in downtown
Social Circle. Call 770-464-3854 or visit www.socialcircleumc.org.

We came to celebrate Fathers Day with great songs and the message
that we are here to always worship God the Father. Pastor Noth delivered the
sermon based on Joshua 24:15. Joshua, the Hebrew name for Jesus, committed his
life and family to serving the Lord. A healthy relationship with Jesus Christ is
every father's most important decision to help him maintain a positive
relationship with his wife, children, work and church. We must love our wife
just as Christ loved the church and we cannot do this without our Father's love
and compassion. Join us in downtown Social Circle to celebrate the love of God.

Sunday services
began with a celebration of our largest Vacation Bible School class ever. The
children sang songs they had learned during a week marked by learning and
sharing God's love. Our Pastor delivered a message in our current series
entitled "Feeling Like A Failure - Consider Paul." He renewed our faith that
even those who have made the gravest mistakes can have an impact, even as Paul
spread God's word and brought so many to Christ. We need only Admit, Repent,
Make Amends and Forget our misdeeds as God forgives us. Join us Fathers Day in
downtown Social Circle to worship and give thanks for our many blessings.

Summer is a
great time to visit our church. We have activities for all ages. Check them out
at http://www.socialcircleumc.org/
or call us at 770.464.3854. Sunday, June 12 at 6 pm we will have a Benefit
Concert and hope many visitors will attend along with our church family. Today,
Pastor Richard Noth 's sermon was "If You Avoid God, Consider Jonah." Millions
of people avoid God because of guilt, apathy and anger. Jonah ran from God and
found out that his idea was a bad option. God wants us to do good and to help
Him save other people. We cannot make it on our own and need to spend time each
day to worship God- Bob Bailes

Our church was
alive with celebration today in observance of Memorial Day. The choir performed
a spirited "Salute to the Armed Forces" and veterans of each branch of service
were recognized. Dates were announced for Vacation Bible School June 8th
through June 11th and all children in the community are invited to attend.
Josh Roberts gave us a great sermon "If They Jump Off The Bridge." We encounter
people who try to convince us to follow the crowd. Many of these people
cause dissension because they live without God and serve their own needs
first. We know as Christians that Christ is the center of our lives. We choose
God and do not jump with the crowd. Join us in downtown Social Circle at 9
am for our Contemporary Service and 11 am for our Morning Worship Service.

Sunday's 9:00 am Contemporary Service was
prepared and exuberantly delivered by our youth ministry. The uplifting music
and fellowship led us to celebrate God's true purpose for our church. The
message was delivered by Youth Leader, David Felsberg, who pointed us all
directly at our mission as a congregation and to measure our success' by one
standard: "Who is getting saved?". Our many Sunday school classes then
gathered to learn God's saving word prior to the 11:00 am Traditional Service.
Join us next Sunday in sunny downtown Social Circle to worship and give thanks
for our many blessings. Information about our church and its many small group
ministries can be obtained by calling (770) 464-3854 or visit www.socialcircleumc.org

The Day of
Pentecost was celebrated with great joy at SCUMC. The Mews Singers
performed " Revive Us Again " as an example of one of the church's Small Group
Ministry's outreach programs. The group performs each Sunday morning at the Mews
Alzheimer wing and Monday afternoons at the Mews Retirement Home. Pastor Richard
Noth delivered the sermon: " If You Lack Spirit, Consider Prayer. " Life without
the spirit of God is miserable and depressing. We must pray to have a Spirit
filled life and to witness a foretaste of Heaven. The Fruit of the Spirit brings
love, joy, peace and kindness allowing us to have a taste of Heaven on earth.

Mothers Day was a
wonderful event at SCUMC as all Moms received a gift and a song from the
Children's Choir. The whole morning was filled with wonderful song and dance
followed by Pastor Richard Noth's special sermon: " The Value of Kindness." The
greatest hallmark of a great Mother and the greatest gift for Mom is
kindness. Kindness is love in action shown by being sensitive, supportive,
sympathetic, straightforward and spontaneous. As a good Samaritan we should show
kindness whenever we see the need just as a good Mother will do each day of her
life. Come visit us in downtown Social Circle to hear beautiful singing and a
wonderful message at our casual Contemporary 9 am Service or our 11 am Morning
Worship Service. Call us at 770-464-3854 or visit http://www.socialcircleumc.org/- Bob

Greetings from
beautiful downtown Social Circle. Come and worship with us at our 9 am Sunday
Contemporary Service or the Morning Worship Service at 11 am. We also have many
Small Group Ministry Programs. Check them out at: http://www.socialcircleumc.org/ or
call us at 770.464.3854. Pastor Richard Noth delivered an important sermon this
Sunday: " If You Hate People, Consider Moses ". Hate is an emotion that we
struggle with in life. Resentment, anger and jealousy lead to hate. Once we
accept Christ into our lives the need to hate is diminished as we realize it is
not about us, it is all about Jesus. Moses killed a man before he was filled
with God's love. After the Burning Bush, Moses was filled with forgiveness, love
and understanding. We have the mind and heart of Christ in our body and through
His Spirit we will not hate- Bob Bailes

Welcome to our
church. Please join us in downtown Social Circle for our Sunday Contemporary
Service at 9 am and Morning Worship Service at 11 am. All activities are posted
on our website at: http://www.socialcircleumc.org/.
Pastor Richard Noth delivered the sermon "If You Can't Give, Open Your
Hands." We witness many people in today's world with the attitude of " I
want, I demand and what's in it for me " People cannot or will not give
for many reasons and would rather let somebody else do it. God put the need
to give in us. We must share His love and be His mouthpiece. Remember each day
to open our hands, open our hearts and be ambassadors for Christ taking what He
has given us and giving It to others- Bob Bailes

Welcome to our
friendly church in beautiful downtown Social Circle. The SCUMC website keeps you
informed about upcoming events: http://www.socialcircleumc.org/. April
17 was "Women's Recognition Sunday" and we gave thanks to all of the women who
devote so much time and energy into sponsoring numerous events throughout the
year. Our guest speaker, Debbie Westfort gave a very interesting Bible lesson
demonstrating how women influenced Biblical history in good and bad ways through
envy, forgiveness and grace. The United Methodist Men announced that this coming
Friday and Saturday will be "Son Shines on Social Circle". We will join forces
with three other local churches to repair homes of folks who are less
fortunate followed by service with Rev. Paul Blair. For information

Sunday was a great day as we celebrated the grand opening of our 9
am Contemporary Service and greeted new visitors to our church. We also saw new
faces at our 11 am Worship Service and rejoice at the opportunity to spread our
Christian love to the community. Pastor Noth reinforced that message with the
sermon: "If You Can't Love, Open Your Heart". We were made by God to love one
another and to treat people with decency and respect. Many times anger and pain
get in the road of God's will. We must turn to the Holy Spirit and be filled
with the Love Of God so that we can be God like and loving in return. Come
visit with us in downtown Social Circle, on line at http://www.socialcircleumc.org/ or by

had a wonderful Easter weekend starting on Good Friday with our Tenebrae Service

Service and our 11 am Worship Service. A huge thanks to everyone in the choir
who worked so hard to bring us the wonderful Easter Cantata. Hearts and minds
were truly opened to the gift of eternal life and forgiveness of sins given
to us through the life, death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ. Come and visit with us this Sunday. For more information please call

we will have our Tenebrae Service. On Sunday, March 27 at 7 am our church will
host the community and church wide Easter Sunrise Service followed by a light
breakfast. At 11 am our Worship Service will include a great Easter Cantata that
the choir has been really practicing hard on so come out and take part in a
wonderful Easter Celebration. On Sunday, March 13 Pastor Noth delivered the
sermon: " God Offers Life. Why Choose Death?" Based on John 11:5 the message is
that when we suffer and hurt, Jesus suffers and hurts. We have a God who cares
and when we are in a crisis situation we should always turn to Jesus, the Great
Healer. God has a power greater than death and has offered us eternal life if we
believe in Him. Call us at 770-464-3854. Bob Bailes
